If you are both a gambler and a decent writer, check out this fun contest to win a homestead of 45.5 acres in Colebrooke Township, Ohio. Your chances are 1 in 3000. Of course, you also have 1 in 3000 chance of being hit by lightning in your lifetime. However, you can increase your odds of winning if you manage to write a compelling reason why you in particular should win this farm. Somehow I suspect that people who write of their intention to resell the property on eBay are not going to win.
If I had several foster children, I'd do it. However, with a household of three and one son on his way to college, I don't think I stand enough of a chance. Unless, perhaps, I come up with a good business plan for an organic farm. Hmm. Let me think about that.
